20 Cannon Street, St Paul’s, London EC4

2nd May 2012

Acting on behalf of Odgers Berndtson, the UK’s leading executive search company, Wright & Partners have agreed terms for a new 15 year lease on 20 Cannon Street EC4.

Designed by Melbourne architects, Denton Corker Marshall, the spectacular 40,000 sq ft building commands a prime position in one of the capital’s prime commercial districts. The building is divided over six generous floorplates, and has been developed as one of the very few innovative all-glass buildings of this size in London’s core business district.

The location enjoys views of St. Paul’s Cathedral, shopping at One New Change, a fine selection of world‐class restaurants, high quality shops and art over the Millennium Bridge, at the Tate Modern, together with the abundance of new amenities the fast evolving St Paul's offers.

Odgers Berndtson is a leading global executive search firm with expert teams covering all major commercial and financial sectors, public sector and not‐for-profit markets.  Its reputation at the top of the executive search profession dates back over 40 years.  The business has a team of 350 people in the UK, and a global presence in over 50 cities worldwide.

Odgers Berndtson will co-locate its interim management business, Odgers Interim, and senior and middle management recruitment arm, Berwick Partners at 20 Cannon Street. The UK head office is currently located in Hanover Square, W1.  Odgers Berndtson has seven offices around the UK, including Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Aberdeen. The move to 20 Cannon Street will consolidate its London offices and provide room for growth.

Richard Boggis-Rolfe, chief executive, Odgers Berndtson, said “Following a decade of growth we are excited to be moving to a contemporary building where we have more space and are the sole tenant. This enables us to bring our London team together in a central location that suits our multi-specialist firm. St Paul’s is convenient for our clients, our candidates and our own people whether travelling from the West End, the City, and Westminster or from out of London. The new office is a vast improvement on our three existing office buildings in the West End and City.  We have decided to take premises that can accommodate our next stage of growth.  This is a great step forward and we all look forward to the move with excitement and enthusiasm.”

David Coskie of Wright & Partners said “This has proved to be a very challenging project which was a two year process. Timing was a key element with a lease end approaching on our client’s space in Hanover Square. Due to the limited number of suitable buildings in the West End the area of search was extended to other central locations in order to increase the number of suitable opportunities. Odgers Berndtson were keen to find a single occupancy building which would satisfy not only their present needs but would also allow some growth in the future.  Our research identified the St Paul’s area as most suitable in terms of the number of possible buildings, and the area’s excellent facilities and good transport links. 20 Cannon Street ticked most, if not all, of the boxes and the favourable terms we were able to negotiate should prove advantageous to our client’s business.”
