Fairley House School purchase freehold for expansion

6th May 2011

Fairley House, a special needs school, have purchased 218 Lambeth Road SE1 from the London Borough of Lambeth for £1.6m in an off market deal.  The building of 7,500 sq ft adjoins the school’s existing premises at 220 Lambeth Road and will provide a new theatre and games area as well as classrooms.  Architects Feilden Clegg Bradley have been appointed to design a scheme to combine the two buildings.  Lambert Smith Hampton acted for Lambeth.

Andrew Marriott of Wright and Partners, who acted for Fairley House, said “This opportunity arose just as the school was reaching full capacity at both sites it has in Causton Street, Victoria and in Lambeth Road.  We were particularly pleased to negotiate terms without 218 Lambeth Road reaching the open market”.
